We are thrilled to share an important milestone: Waterloo Wayside has officially received charitable tax status. This achievement not only recognizes our impact on the community but also strengthens our ability to expand programs, secure grants, and deepen our impact across Waterloo Region.
In achieving charitable status, donations to Waterloo Wayside are now tax-deductible. Your generous support goes even further, helping us:
- Provide essential resources and services
- Connect individuals and groups in our community to share their time and talents
- Foster community partnerships that multiply our collective impact
- Create a space where everyone understands that they are valued and belong
As we embark on a new path as an independent charity, our strength still lies in the collective action and support of the volunteers, donors and participants of Wayside programs. That is why we are inviting you to become a member of Waterloo Wayside. For a *nominal fee of $5, membership grants you more than just a seat at the table—it gives you a voice in shaping our future. As a member, you will be empowered to elect our Board of Directors, vote on motions at the Annual General Meeting and help set priorities and policies that guide our work.
Joining Online is easy:
Download a Membership Application Form and then e-mail the completed form and e-transfer $5 to info@waterloowayside.org.
To Join at a Wayside Program:
Ask for a membership application form from a program leader. Complete and return the form to that same person. The $5 membership fee can be e-transferred to info@waterloowayside.org or paid in cash to a program leader.
Once you’re a member, watch for an invitation to our first Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 24th at 12:00 PM.

*Thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor, those unable to pay the $5 fee will be granted a membership at no charge to them.
