Region of Waterloo – Extreme Weather Supports

Financial & Equipment Supports for Extreme Weather

With extreme weather and summer heat events becoming more frequent across Waterloo Region, local financial and health supports are available to help community members stay safe and resilient.

Recognizing extreme heat as an urgent health equity issue, the Region of Waterloo has expanded access to cooling supports through its Discretionary Benefits program.

How to Apply: OW participants should contact their caseworker. ODSP and non-social assistance recipients can call 519-883-2100 or apply online via Ontario Emergency Assistance.
